Hi ST,

Increasing the file size limit above 100MB isn't something that's currently supported outside of a customization on an Enterprise plan. In the meantime, your best options are:

  1. Split the videos into separate files/segments that fit within the 100MB limit
  2. Lower the quality and/or resolution to reduce the size of the video

I'll convert this to a suggestion for you!

Brian

Hi Brian,

Is there any chance that we can do this through a feature expedite?

We're hosting some larger files for development projects. It's not like there would be a lot of traffic. Perhaps only 10-20 downloads per week.

We like the security model in Hoop.la. That is, we like that we can control see a forum and it's content - AND - that unless you have permission to see a post, you can't access an attachment to that post.

Hi ST,

Unfortunately this is one of the differentiators between our plan levels. This isn't about the work required to support files larger than 100MB, but rather it's about the plan tier you're on and what's allowed on that plan tier. The Enterprise plan level supports higher usage limits, and we extend that to include things like file size limits.

I completely understand your scenario and agree that it makes sense to use Hoop.la's robust permission model to facilitate the sharing. Unfortunately, that doesn't include files greater than 100MB on your plan level. For now, your options are to leverage the options I mentioned in my previous post, or consider the upgrade to Enterprise again once you're ready.

I know this isn't the answer you're looking for, but I hope you understand!

Take care,

Brian

Hi Brian,

I understand. That's okay for now.  We can't split the files. They are executables.

We've got other ways to handle this, but nothing as elegant as attaching the files to a strictly permissioned post with an attachment.
