Strange HTML appearing in posts being edited

Service: Hoop.la

I have noticed in the last couple of weeks that when i edit a post, the following HTML gets added to the bottom...

<p><span style="border-radius: 2px; text-indent: 20px; width: auto; padding: 0px 4px 0px 0px; text-align: center; font: bold 11px/20px 'Helvetica Neue',Helvetica,sans-serif; color: #ffffff; background: #bd081c  no-repeat scroll 3px 50% / 14px 14px; position: absolute; opacity: 1; z-index: 8675309; display: none; cursor: pointer;">Save</span></p>

As I keep on editing (I "publish" frequently and go back and look at what I've done. As this is in a currently private forum.) And if I don't get rid of the above added code, it grows...

<p><span style="border-radius: 2px; text-indent: 20px; width: auto; padding: 0px 4px 0px 0px; text-align: center; font: bold 11px/20px 'Helvetica Neue',Helvetica,sans-serif; color: #ffffff; background: #bd081c no-repeat scroll 3px 50% / 14px 14px; position: absolute; opacity: 1; z-index: 8675309; display: none; cursor: pointer;">Save</span></p>
<p><span style="border-radius: 2px; text-indent: 20px; width: auto; padding: 0px 4px 0px 0px; text-align: center; font: bold 11px/20px 'Helvetica Neue',Helvetica,sans-serif; color: #ffffff; background: #bd081c no-repeat scroll 3px 50% / 14px 14px; position: absolute; opacity: 1; z-index: 8675309; display: none; cursor: pointer;">Save</span></p>
<p><span style="border-radius: 2px; text-indent: 20px; width: auto; padding: 0px 4px 0px 0px; text-align: center; font: bold 11px/20px 'Helvetica Neue',Helvetica,sans-serif; color: #ffffff; background: #bd081c no-repeat scroll 3px 50% / 14px 14px; position: absolute; opacity: 1; z-index: 8675309; display: none; cursor: pointer;">Save</span></p>

This does not (seem to) affect the appearance of a post. Where is this coming from?

Hi Carol,

That's definitely not anything coming from Hoop.la. Do you happen to have any kind of Pinterest browser plugin installed? If so, there are reports of that code coming from the Pinterest plugin:

http://www.telerik.com/forums/...a-code-added-to-html

It looks like the Pinterest bookmarklet also does something similar:

As a side note, if you look at the code, you might notice it has a z-index of 8675309, which happens to be a popular Tommy Tutone song. I'm not sure why they've chosen to use that z-index, but it is amusing

Hope this helps!

Brian

Ok. That explains it. (Yes I do have a Pinterest Plugin thingy.)
As for the z-index... Not sure I understand what that does but yes, someone
has a sense of humor.

Thanks for your help Brian. You can mark this as resolved.
