Hi Kellyne,

Getting just an email list is really easy.  Go into your control panel, under manage members.  Search for the parameters that you want, or just click the link for "show all members". At the bottom of the results select All, across all pages. At the bottom, under the Desired Actions pull down select View as Email list.

To get a more complete list with name, email, and company name would take some database work as the eve member management screen doesn't show the custom profile fields (company name)

You have two options there -

1) You can search and browse the database yourself, and access that data in any way that you want. You can gain access to view your database at http://forums.informationbuilders.com/config. From there you can view your entire database and query it to gain any info that you need. It's not very user friendly but phpMyAdmin is installed which can help.

2) If you are not up to database diving (and who is?), then we can provide a quote for generating a CSV file that will give name, email, company name IF name and company name are custom profile fields.

Hi Dave!

Thanks for your reply.  Can you please provide me with a quote to generate a CSV file with name, company, email for our member list?  Those fields are required for anyone registering for our forum.

Thanks,

Kellyne

HI Kellyne,

For a one time member CSV export we would charge $150 for an hour of Advanced support. We could also give you the SQL for the query so that you can use the phpMyAdmin tool that I mentioned above to pull the data whenever you wanted to.

If you would rather a CSV (or XML if you prefer) report that you can regenerate, similar to the work that we did for you in this ticket we can do that as well. That would be a little more expensive. Let me know if you would like for us to generate a quote for that method.

Sounds good. I'm going to close this ticket (to make the benevolent overlords of ticket closing feel happy happy   ) but you can reopen it once you have made a decision. It'll still be here.

Hi Dave,

How can we get access to phpMyAdmin? I see it installed but it may require different credentials? We would like to take a look at how the data is stored in the database so we can compare our options.

Thanks!

Hi Kellyne,

We actually put a description of how to get to phpMyAdmin in this month's newsletter which went out yesterday.

You do read them, riiiiight?

The username and password for /config on your site does not match either the combo used here on Questionshark or for your eve site.

Your username is simply "forumsinfo". The lost password function will get your password for you.  That password will be emailed to "Kathleen_Butler@ibi.com".

Once you are in there you can click on "MySQL Management" which is on the top right. From there click on your database, "forumsinfo_eve". You'll see the phpMyAdmin link there too. Don't click it yet.  On the "forumsinfo_eve" database page you'll see a user, "forumsinfo_xml". Please DO NOT use that one. Create a new one and set a password for it. Now you can go back to the phpMyAdmin link, click on it and use the new user" and the password you've just given to it.

You'll need to look in both IP_USERS and IP_PROFILES for the information that you're looking for.
