Not Able to Post Replies

Service: Hoop.la

When I try to post a reply I get a white box (see first attachment).  Then if I click "Home" I get a prompt asking if I want to stay or leave the page (see second attachment).  So....I cannot use The Happiness Zone site.

What am I doing wrong...or what should I do to correct this?

Thank you.

Kris Nelson

Hi Kris-

The reason you are getting the message asking if you are sure you want to leave the page is that we always show that if the reply composition box is open, in order to make sure the user knows that if they leave the page the message they started typing (or were considering posting) will be lost.  Thus, there is no issue there... that is expected behavior.

For the other issue - the white box- my guess is that the page simply did not finish loading, since I see no WYSIYG toolbar.  That could be bandwidth issue on your end (if your internet connection slower than normal) or it could that something is interfering with the page load (typically, that could be a script you might have installed on your site).

I will test on your site in a bit to see if I can see anything obviously wrong.

I just was able to post a reply on the thread titled "Happiness" but the white box still is on the thread entitled "Happy Days, Happy Dreams."  The stay or leave popup did not appear.  My daughter said it appeared for her last evening on every thread she was on as soon as she clicked "post reply."

I just tested on your site and saw no white bar on the "Happy Days, Happy Dreams" topic.  I tested in Firefox and Chrome.

Regarding the "stay or leave" message, like I said above, that will always appear if you try to click on a link on the page (to go elsewhere) after you have started composing a post (or are on a page dedicated to posting).

Curious!  I just now went to the "Happy Days, Happy Dreams" thread and it will not let me post a reply (just a white area instead of blue).  I also tried on both Firefox and Chrome.

Could this be something with my computer?

Thanks for all your help, Ted!

It looks to me like the page is just completed loaded for you, which may point to a bandwidth issue (slow/poor connection).  I would try clearing your browser cache, as well, just to be thorough.

I just cleared the cache.  The speed seems fine on all the other pages and sites I have accessed.  All the other threads are normal too, but still no change on "Happy Days, Happy Dreams."  I think I may try just deleting that thread since it seems to be the problem.

Thanks again for your help, Ted.

Hi Lori!  I never was able to delete the topic from the "Manage Topics".  I experimented with a few things and finally was able to delete the topic by going to the original post that started the topic and deleting that.  So that deleted the entire topic.

Thanks to you  and Ted for your help.
