Chat PENDING Area - Lost Visibility After 50 Posts

Service: Hoop.la

Hi, I am running a chat where people enter advance questions (before the chat goes live) and the guest is answering in advance, so we've had more than the usual number of posts in the PENDING area. When we hit 50 comments there, people could enter questions, but they no longer revealed to me (moderator) or the featured guest. I know some were entered, because someone told us she had entered some, and neither I nor the guest could see them.

So I moved the 50 comments from PENDING to HOLD, and the entered questions we had not seen before showed up in PENDING.

This all said, it looks like you've limited the reveal to 50 posts in PENDING. Can this be increased? Also, is there a limit to what will reveal in HOLD (once posts are stored there)? Asking, so I know how to manage this chat, as I need to maintain visibility of all posts before the chat goes live.

THANKS!

Good morning Julia,

The "Pending" queue will only show the 50 oldest pending messages, meaning that you will have to take action on those items in order to get to the newer messages to appear. The "Pending" queue was designed to be taken action on well in advance of the chat, forcing the moderators to decide which messages should be held for when the chat goes live, and which ones should be removed.

Hope that helps,

Jonmark

Right - I already figured that out, because when I moved them to HOLD, I could see the ones entered after #50 in PENDING. You did not answer my questions though:

1) This all said, it looks like you've limited the reveal to 50 posts in PENDING. Can this be increased?

2) Also, is there a limit to what will reveal in HOLD (once posts are stored there)? Asking, so I know how to manage this chat, as I need to maintain visibility of all posts before the chat goes live.

Hello Julia,

We have no immediate plans to increase the "Pending" queue limit, or to add pagination to it.  I would be happy to convert this into a suggestion if you wish, or you could create a separate ticket for that purpose.

Regarding the message limit for the "Hold" queue; there currently is no limit with that queue, whatever messages are in it will be shown.

Hope this finds you well,

Jonmark
