Re: Need Super Admin access

Hi, Andy: Looks like the last contact we had was John Harper...and it sounds like he's gone, now? You can verify your ownership of the account by a letter on letterhead, if that works for you. You can attach it to this ticket (a PDF), or send it to me directly at lori@socialstrata.com . The letter should just simply say that you have authority to be granted ownership of the account. Once we have that, we can set the Primary Admin to the registered user of your choice--we'll just need the...

Re: Eve: removing admin comment on user profile

Lori ·
Hi, Kate: Looks like you used the Custom Title field instead of the comments field. To get to the comments field, click on the user's profile. click "Admin Functions" on the left-hand menu. Under Desired Action, choose Add Note About Member(s). This will bring up a field where you can put your comment. Click Submit. In case you can't find your way back to that custom title to remove it, it's on the same page, same dropdown, but this time, choose Set Custom Member Title, and erase the comment...

Thanks Lori, I've updated the notes field and deleted the customer member title. The title has not been removed from the front end/forums. Does the edit take a bit of time to be reflected? Many thanks, Kate

Re: Eve: removing admin comment on user profile

Hi, Kate: The issue is that the pages are cached, and so there will be no change on a page until someone does something to change the page (i.e. post a reply). However, you can clear your board's cache, which will fix it everywhere: Go to Eve>>Utilities On the "Page Cache" tab, click the button that says "Clear Cache".

Re: How do I require Admin approval of new registrations?

Lori ·
In your Eve Control Panel, go to Eve >> Members >> Registration Settings, and choose the Basic Settings tab. Check the “Manual Membership Approval” box and then click on “Save Settings.” Note: “Permit New Registrations” must be enabled for this option to appear.

Re: Set notifications on for a permission circle - for new group members

Lori ·
Hi, ST: Yes, you can set up a recipe to Moderate New Members. Your actions would be to Moderate New Members (with the condition of joining that group), and then just add an additional action to send a notification to specific permission circles. You may already have a recipe to moderate new members, in which case you can just add the action to notify. Make sense? Lori

Thanks, Lori. I'm getting all the notifications as Super Admin. I'm trying to figure out how to share the notifications with the Group Admins who are Support Reps. Is there a switch someplace that sets the notifications for Support Reps? ST

Re: Set notifications on for a permission circle - for new group members

Lori ·
Hi, ST: Do your Group Admins have the Manage Members permission? If so, they should see the option to get notifications for new registrations in their notification settings by default (in the Administrative Events section). That setting will be enabled by default.

Hi, Lori, Yes - the Group Admins have Manage Members permission. I've just set up the Group Admins and we'll do some testing to make sure that they are getting the notifications. Thanks, Lor. ST

Re: Impersonate a Member

Ted O'Neill ·
Hi ST- As a matter of fact, we do have plans to support that as part of a larger overall release in the future (though it is not something scheduled for the near term). Without going into too many details, the release includes the following core components: -- Allowing admins to sign in as any user on the site -- Supporting an Admin Event Log, which lists all admin actions performed on the site, as well as some other critical actions, like whenever content is deleted or edited. -- Support...

Eve: removing admin comment on user profile

Impersonate a Member

ST ·
It would be great if a Super Admin could temporarily impersonate a member. This would allow a Super Admin to inhabit the member's experience and to change settings if necessary. I understand that a member could later go in and change their settings, and that would be fine. I understand that there could be privacy issues. I don't think that the exposure is greater than is already possible if a Super Admin changes a member's password to access the account. Is this on the development timeline?

I would like to manually approve new registrations.  How can I do that?

Need Super Admin access

amarkham ·
We have been using Eve forums for quite some time and have had enough turnover that we are left with no accounts that have Super Admin permissions. There are likely old user accounts that have them, but we aren't able to access them. Is it feasible to prove my ownership of the product and get added as one so that we can set up a supportable long-term process? Thank you, Andy Markham VP, Engineering @ Military.com/Monster.com http://forums.military.com/eve
Suggestion

Super Admin for specific forum

ST ·
Please make it possible to give a permission circle the ability to control all aspects of a specific forum but without access to other forums. This would allow me to create one administrator (or a permission circle of people) for a forum without giving away the keys to the kingdom. Thanks, ST

Set notifications on for a permission circle - for new group members

ST ·
Hi, I have a permission circle called PA Group Admins. I want the members of that group to receive notifications when new member auto-join the group. The group is set to Private, so the PA Group Admins need to approve the new members. How do I set that up? Do I need to do that through a recipe? Thanks, ST

Hi, Emma: At this time, there is not. We gave you a quote last August for a Feature Expedite on that: It's not on our development schedule as of now. If you're interested in moving forward with that, I can make sure that the quote is still good, if you're interested--just let me know! Thanks, Lori

Re: Setting others' notifications

Dave Dreezer ·
Hi Emma, No, an admin cannot adjust a user's notifications. You can adjust the default notifications that are applied for all new members when they register, but there is no way to retroactively adjust either all members, or a single individual's notifications. In the spirit of teaching them how to fish you could point them to this knowledgebase entry , or create your own for them to read.

Is there any way our Super Admins can adjust members' notification settings for them? This seems to be a request we are getting more and more frequently from people as our community grows. Thanks! Emma
