Hi, Pretty Thunder: Hoop.la 2.0 doesn't have the old themes from Hoop.la 1.0--they didn't carry over, as themes are built differently, now. You can create new themes, however, based on the current theme, and make whatever changes you like. Lori

Thanks for the info. This is a big disappointment as I have no skills at all in coding or even know the language around a webpage. I'm an Herbalist. The themes worked great and now I've messed up our site trying to do that. Please bring back the option of themes so this can continue to be a place for us. Additionally please tell me how to return my site to the, 'Default "Our Theme"' Very frustrating. Why upgrade and take away something as basic as a few themes?

Hi, Pretty Thunder: I'm sorry you're frustrated. We sent out a couple of emails to you a few months ago, and gave you a beta site on 2.0 so that you could spend time adjusting your theme to be what you wanted, and we're always here to help! Themes are built completely differently now, and they were not going to translate over to 2.0. I have access to your old 1.0 theme: would you like for me to go in to your theme on 2.0 and make it look more like your old theme? Also, please note that you...

Hi, thanks for the response. I changed some things but now can't see the name (Top of the page left side) of the group. Can you please change the font for me on that? Have no idea how to. Thank you. Prettythunder

The Forum Refresh Release

Ted O'Neill ·
Today, we have begun the process of rolling out a major update for Hoop.la sites. This upgrade focuses mainly on the forums module. Let's go over the changes! 1. New Topic List Mode In your control panel for the UBB Forum module, you'll see a new setting that looks like this: The "New" topic list mode focuses on making it faster and easier for your members to browse through topics in your community. There is no separate list of categories and forums in this mode. Instead, all forums...

If we change to the new forum display mode and don't like it, can we change back to legacy mode with no loss of information or data or formatting? Assuming so, but wanted to check before I do anything that might cause me more work. Thanks!

Also, if we'd prefer to apply the same generic avatar for those who do not select, can we do so? I was using the site logo, and I prefer that as it helps to advertise the site.

Hi Julie- Yes, you can switch modes (back and forth) and you will not lose any data/information.

In the topic display, there's now a bar that shows the topic title as soon you scroll down. It appears with a white background, which doesn't look good on one of my sites. However, I can't find how to style it to have a black background in the theme editor. I can look into custom CSS myself, but isn't this available as a style option?

There is no built-in option to do that, but it may be possible using CSS. You may want to access that question on our support site.

Thank you Lori! In the meantime I'm doing this through custom CSS. If anyone else uses a dark theme and wishes to fix it, add below code to the Custom CSS section of your Display Settings. Ideally you should change #000000 (black) to your page background color.

Thanks Slaz. Changing the Background color will also help the sticky header stand out from the page's background too. Hoop: When viewing on a small device... The FONT SIZE of the floating bar needs adjusted for small devices. It eats up too much of the screen real estate. I tried to apply font-size but the CSS would not take. Please give us the secret sauce to adjust the font size. Also, the Sticky Header covers up the Hamburger Menu. (For that reason alone I might want to turn it off.) Hope...

Hi @neil - When we roll out the fix for this, the sticky header will not appear on "small grids" (narrow viewports like mobile phones). Thus, you won't have to worry about that.

Ted O'Neill ·
Good news! We've just rolled out an update that solves this problem. The sticky header will now use the same colors set in your theme for Default Content. In addition, the sticky header will not appear at all on smaller screens. Thus, no CSS should be required now, unless you want to change use colors other than the Default Content theme items.

Sticky Header style options

Slaz ·
Hi there! Since the recent major update, I noticed theres's this new 'Sticky Header' added to topic pages. Seen under the top navigation as well as at the top of the page after scrolling down. (see screen snaps below) I can't find where to style it, unless I'm missing something obvious. I could do it by custom CSS, but since it breaks dark themes I believe that at least its colors should be selectable from the theme editor. Thanks in advance!

I agree. I used the CSS to suppress the sticky title because it took up too much of the screen, making it hard to follow the content.

The Sticky at the top of the page feels too large, and you lose the context of the discussion. Suggestion. Instead of this: Continue to display the breadcrumbs like this. That is: Make the breadcrumbs sticky. ST

More on the Sticky Header. Basically - I appreciate the intent but as it stands, it's pretty jarring when you scroll down. As I mentioned, I'd prefer to keep the context provided by the breadcrumbs, but even if you can do that, how do I solve this. Before the scroll. Once you scroll down far enough to trigger the sticky topic the background of the sticky extends across the width of the window, and you get this. ST
