    ❤️
You already know that you can insert images into your Hoop.la posts by clicking "Add Attachments." But do you know how to refine the SEO value for each image? This quick tip offers some additional options that may help optimize your post (and make it easier to read for accessibility purposes). You'll notice there's an Attachments box at the bottom of the post, which is where you can adjust the Title and Caption if you'd like to do so. The Title field will default to the filename, but it's...

Bandwidth is surely very cheep these days and I am reluctant to pay a premium OR lose my SEO. Could you please tell me what my monthly charge will now be without it? Thank you.
  • Blog Post Comment
All of our plans include unlimited bandwidth, so that is a non issue. I'm not sure what cost you are referring to, since nothing I described in this blog requires a cost of any kind. Both new features are free. For further questions about your particular account, please post to our support site: http://socialstrata,com/support Thanks and have a great weekend!

I could have sworn I was told that I have to pay a charge for excess visitors or bandwidth of some kind? It was going to appear on my bill but you said you would hold off the charges until the new feature was released and then give me the choice of the extra charges or limit the BOTS. This is really confusing. Can you confirm then that my site will have no additional charges if I DONT limit the bots on my site?

"If your billable page views are getting close to your plan limit, this option may come in handy." - THERE! So what are billable page views if its not linked to bandwidth?
  • Blog Post Comment
Hi Richard- Your plan has a billable page view limit (not a bandwidth limit). And if you exceed your billable page views, you will incur charges. Thus, if you are close to exceeding your account's limit, then you may want to consider using the throttling option. For questions about your specific account, please post to our support area.

That's great news. Are there any plans to evolve this into a quiz functionality eventually? (Where users would get an answer based on the selections they made?)
  • Blog Post Comment
Hi Robert- We have no current plans for a quiz feature, but if that is of interest to you I'd suggest posting your idea(s) as a suggestion to our support site , so that we can consider it for a future release. I can see how that would be cool.

Hi, I’ve gone to my admin console, and as a Super Admin, I am not able to set permissions to create surveys. Create survey is not an option here: http://forums.bicycling.com/cp/survey-settings Thanks, Brad
  • Blog Post Comment
Hi Brad, On the Survey Settings page, you can set the default permissions for newly created surveys (for who can complete the survey and view the survey results). You do not set the actual Create Survey permission there, however. To control who can Create Surveys, you need to go into the Permissions section of your control panel. Select the Permission Circle that you want to be able to create surveys and then click the Permissions tab. For example, for All Members, that URL is:...

Call me stupid but I cant seem to figure out how to post a survey. Had no problems with polls.
  • Blog Post Comment
Hi Yojeffo- Go to the Surveys page and click on the big "Create Survey" button on the top right. Alternatively, you can click on the "Post Content" button (also in the top right) on the "Home" page. There is also a "Create Survey" link as a submenu item In the "Surveys" menu item. It basically works the same way as any other content type in Hoop.la. If you are not seeing these Create Survey buttons/links, it means that you do not have permission to create surveys, which would be a permission...

I am interested in creating a survey for only a small subset of users. I do not wish to make it public or post it to the community, but rather send out an e-mail to certain users with a link to the survey. So, when I create the survey is it automatically posted to the community, or can I hide it? Will a link be generated to put in an e-mail?
  • Blog Post Comment
Hi Dan- Each survey you create has its own configurable permissions controlling who can take the survey and also (separately) who can view the results. The survey will be posted to the community, but again the only people that will be able to see the survey on your site at all will be the ones who can either take the survey or view the results. Thus, for your scenario, if you limit permissions for your survey to just the permission circle comprised of the users you referred to, then only...

I don't say it enough: you do good! Appreciate the SEO options. Are they only applied to NEW or are they retroactive? NEil
  • Blog Post Comment
Hi Neil- Thanks... it applies to all content retroactively. Thus, content created before the release was automatically "SEO-ified".

Thanks for this tip, Rosemary. The last time I checked, Pinterest also uses the "Title " info for what shows up as the description on a pin. It would be nice to have an easier way (other than accessing the HTML code) to add a data-pin-description. (Sheesh. Your customers are always wanting more!)
  • Crowdstack Discussion
Hello Crowdstack, Looks like my community has two different <H1> tags on each page. <h1 class="title" <h1 class="pageTitle" Bing SEO tools are complaining "Remove redundant <h1> tags from the page source, so that only one <h1> tag exists." Bing lists this as a High Severity issue. My site has been dropped from indexing by Bing. Is there a way to keep <h1 class="title" and replace <h1 class="pageTitle" with something else? Thanks

Hi there! Could you please email this question to [email protected] so we can take a look at your specific site and help figure it out with you?

I wouldn't worry too much about it. A duplicate h1 won't be a huge deal in terms of SEO, but of course it would be nice to have a fix, hope there is an answer regards, Claudio Lescure Florist Italy
