Re: Phrases as Content Moderation Triggers

Jonmark Weber ·
Hello, There is currently no way to do this in Eve because of the way that we store and read trigger words. This is an interesting idea, and something I know we have talked about in the past. I will put in a feature suggestion so that we can review whether we would like to add this as a feature change in a future release. Cheers, Jonmark

Re: How do I moderate a member's posts?

Lori ·
In your eve control panel, go to Eve >> Members >> Member Management. Search for the member in question. Click on the name of the member to access the member's Personal Zone. On the member's Personal Zone navigation bar, go to Forums >> Admin Functions. Check the “Moderate User's Posts” box and choose a “Moderation Expiration” if applicable. Click on “Submit.”

Re: How do I add or remove moderators from a specific forum?

Lori ·
Your community is configured with a Moderator group for each forum. This group consists of users that are moderators only within their forum. As moderators, they have the ability to manage the content in that forum (and potentially other powers, if you customize the associated permissions for the group). In your control panel, go to Forums >> Specific Forums. Click on Forum Details for the forum in which you wish to add or remove moderators. Within the Forum Settings, click on the...

Silly question - but if Akismet is free for personal use, why is it to be a paid add-on?
Comment

Re: Busting out a can of "Spam-B-Gone"

Ted O'Neill ·
Morgan- It will be a paid option because we will be tightly integrating it with Hoop.la's existing content moderation system, including options to send spam-detected posts to the Hoop.la moderation queue, delete automatically, and delete and ban users automatically. We will also have a "restore" queue for deleted spam.

Re: Recipe request

Brian Lenz ·
Hi Deb, You'll be happy to know that this request has now been implemented! You can create a recipe for new content and replies with a "Posted By Email" condition. With that condition, you can set up your recipe to match content/replies posted by email or content/replies not posted by email. Thanks again for the suggestion! Brian

Re: moderate member based on email post

Brian Lenz ·
Hello, Sorry I wasn't more clear. I explained only one half of the scenario. The other half is a new condition for the Member Registers trigger. For Member Registers , there is a new condition called Registered During Post By Email . You can use that trigger and condition combination to reject new registrations by email. It will in effect prevent the post from being made, as well. You can read more about The Templates Release that included these new recipe features here:...

Re: Report a posting

Yes, there is: On each post, in the lower right-hand corner, is a small yellow triangle. If a member clicks this, they'll be taken to a page where they can explain why they are reporting the post. Then they'll click the "Submit" button, and the notification is sent. As the Admin, you'll want to make sure that you are alerted when a post is reported. Go to the control panel, to Forums>>Content Management, and select the Approval Queue tab. You can view all reported or moderated content...

Re: Report a posting

Jonmark Weber ·
Hello, There is actually a option within the forum settings that controls whether the "Report a Post" icon is displayed. You may not have it enabled within your forums settings. Here is how to check. Goto: CP -> Forums -> Specific Forums Click in the "forum details" link for the forum you want to enable this icon for, once that page loads click on the "Display" tab, and then look within the "Topic Page Display Options" within that tab. You should see a checkbox option labeled 'Enable...

I think there's still a place for a little bit of Stalin. Ok, maybe not in the arena of criticism, and some controversy is always going to happen. I've had to perform one execution as a moderator and I've never regretted the decision, though with different tools and more experience I might have been able to find a better way (though I still doubt it). Other than that, I guess I'm bits of all of these - if I had to pick one, I'm more of a border collie, but without the idea of the "correct"...

Re: Allow Chat Moderator To Start Chat

Jonmark Weber ·
Good morning, Chat moderators are only given the right to manage the messages within a chat and the people participating in the chat. They do not have "Manage Chat Settings" which is a much broader and more dangerous setting. I can see how starting the chat from the front end may not be as dangerous so I will turn this ticket into a suggestion. This way other users on the community can weigh in on this as well. Jonmark

Re: Moderation queue trigger words

Brian Lenz ·
Hi Jason, It's not possible to set up a moderation trigger for a phrase containing multiple words. The moderation triggers only support single words. Those single words will be wildcard matches, so "rat" will match "moderate" for example. You can place {} around a word to make it an exact match, so "{rat}" will only match "rat" but not "moderate". Sorry I don't have a better answer than that! Brian

It has blogs, calendar, chat events, chat rooms, a tightly integrated premium membership system, clips (for loose photo/video/audio/file uploads), a mobile-optimized...

Hi Debbie, The software update today included major improvements to the moderation processes used on your site. You can read more about it on our blog here: https://www.socialstrata.com/blog/introducing-recipes Your member moderation setting should have been moved to a new recipe, which would have meant that there was no change to the moderation behavior on your site. It looks like there was a small issue that prevented that from happening properly. We've corrected the issue, so things...
