Will do! I've basically been encouraging everyone I know interested in my site concept to share it like crazy. Having the support of friends / family with thriving online social networks helps a ton. And I realized that I should sign up for a FB page so I could entice regular FB users BACK to my site by posting news and blog post links there. Learning a lot and loving what you guys are doing! Where are you located? A couple people have asked and I can't figure it out. Morgan

Yes, you should definitely leverage your FB presence. That will help you too. The bulk of our staff are in Seattle, WA, but a couple of us are in Charleston, SC. We're in the process of opening a second office here. It's definitely helping us to have folks in two time zones!

You sure can! On your blog page, on the right hand column, you should see an RSS link. Just grab that and feed it into Hootsuite as I described above, and voila. Just let me know if you run into any trouble, and I can help further.

Bandwidth is surely very cheep these days and I am reluctant to pay a premium OR lose my SEO. Could you please tell me what my monthly charge will now be without it? Thank you.
  • Blog Post Comment
All of our plans include unlimited bandwidth, so that is a non issue. I'm not sure what cost you are referring to, since nothing I described in this blog requires a cost of any kind. Both new features are free. For further questions about your particular account, please post to our support site: http://socialstrata,com/support Thanks and have a great weekend!

I could have sworn I was told that I have to pay a charge for excess visitors or bandwidth of some kind? It was going to appear on my bill but you said you would hold off the charges until the new feature was released and then give me the choice of the extra charges or limit the BOTS. This is really confusing. Can you confirm then that my site will have no additional charges if I DONT limit the bots on my site?

"If your billable page views are getting close to your plan limit, this option may come in handy." - THERE! So what are billable page views if its not linked to bandwidth?
  • Blog Post Comment
Hi Richard- Your plan has a billable page view limit (not a bandwidth limit). And if you exceed your billable page views, you will incur charges. Thus, if you are close to exceeding your account's limit, then you may want to consider using the throttling option. For questions about your specific account, please post to our support area.

Great stuff. One question: In the Activity Point formula, there's a reference to points earned for the author having a post on a support topic "marked as best answer." Can one enable this "best answer" feature in their own community forums? If so, how? I can't seem to locate this option on Hoop.la. Thanks.
  • Blog Post Comment
Hey Julia, Your site should not be seeing that activity event. It should go away in a future release. Sorry for any confusion that may have caused you.
  • Blog Post Comment
Just to clarify what Jonmark said... the "mark as best answer" action is a feature in QuestionShark, our customer support product/module. Thus, sites that do not have QuestionShark enabled will never have that option available.

Hello , I am excited about the news. Would like to be a tester. I have sub communities. would this feature remain? Very good news and thanks for sharing.

Hi Margarita- You'll be on our beta/upgrade server when it is available... and we'll notify you when that happens, of course. We will still be supporting groups (which is what I think you were referring to). Not planning to drop any features.

Hi Ted, do you have an update on the estimated launch for beta testing? I vaguely recall an August projection, so I thought I'd check.
  • Blog Post Comment
Hi Lynda- I'll be posting a new blog post with an update sometime next week.

Re: Creating Content is Simpler I am really hoping that you all include in this update a way to move a post to add it as a reply to an existing post. With this "simpler" way of posting, I'm forecasting our users will probably post in the wrong spot. (We've got a lot of possible forums and topics and posts.) -- Carol

As long as our members can preview posts, moderators can ban members by IP (loved that feature in Eve) and we can remove Likes from the Activity Stream then we're good!

lot of major updates. very impressive. look forward to accessing the beta site and making an aggressive push to launch my Hoop.la site. I think forum owners are going to see a SIGNIFICANT increase in engagement across their site with the mobile friendly responsive design. That is HUGE! I suspect large community sites using UBB Forum will see an amazing increase in overall utilization. I look forward to being more engaged with Social Strata. This is a high quality update for sure. Congrats.

Has the chat been fixed so that it displays the latest chats first?
  • Blog Post Comment
I'm not sure I understand your question, Gamres. There are no known issues with the ordering of chat posts. I'd suggest submitting a support ticket if you are having an issue, so that we can properly assist you.

Margarita- you have a separate support topic for that over here: https://hey.crowdstack.com/support/topic/beta-si...

So where is my site at, there is a copy of my site someplace?? I hope I am understanding this correctly.
  • Blog Post Comment
Hi Helela- Yes, the the home page is now 2 columns, though you can create a 3-column custom page to replace it if you like. See the tip here: https://hey.crowdstack.com/support/topic/make-a-...

Hi Helela- You would have been sent an email about your beta site well over a month ago, so you may want to check your email (perhaps check you email spam folder, as well). If you cannot find it, then please submit a support ticket for assistance: https://hey.crowdstack.com/support/post-topic Thanks!

Ted, do we report feedback about the beta site here or in a separate post? Thanks.
