Today we added support for "Portfolios", a kind of super-categorization for Hoop.la sites. Portfolios make Hoop.la sites more extensible, with the ability to create an unlimited number of these super-categories per site.
Portfolios are perfect for sites that have the need for multiple concentrated content sections, each with its own blog, forums, photos, videos, documents, chat events, etc. With a Hoop.la Portfolios site, it is still just one site; users do not have to join each portfolio. And while content is distinct per portfolio, it can also be aggregated at its hub.
Portfolios would be overkill for niche sites that have one simple target audience, but for sites that have multiple target audiences, they offer a powerful way of extending the reach of the community, while still providing highly directed content within each portfolio.
Check out the quick overview video below.
Note that portfolios are available as an option only for Hoop.la Pro plans. There is an additional fee to enable portfolios, as well. We'll be adding more information to our website later this week.
